I bought this 1st week of September and I managed to finish the whole book in a day. I was hooked from the 1st page that I can't stop reading it. Its actually a fiction novel but it mirrors the life of a homosexual in the Philippines. From childhood, the stigma of gay in the society, life in school - university, from the colorful streets of Malate, blinding lights inside a gay bar and HIV. The book is very intense and powerful that even made it to different local shows and after a few days of release became an International Best Seller in 2007. It was even translated to English to cater Foreign markets. Yeah, I know! I'm so late already in reading this material. Still, I'm happy I read it. I encourage everyone to read it, either maybe straight or not. I cried a bucket at the last chapter of the book. The feeling of bursting because of a heavy heart. I actually thought of the film of The Bangkok Love Story because it also tackes HIV/AIDS.
One of the best books I've read in ages. :)
